Tasted this as Day 5 of The Saratoga Whiskey Club Advent Calendar 2020. Every day is a new adventure with a blind tasting, where we each try to guess the country of origin, the type and age of the whisk(e)y, the ABV, and the distillery, followed by a reveal at 9PM. I guessed that it was a Speyside, Pedro Ximenez-matured whisky at 59% ABV. Despite the fact that it tasted like a Speyside, it wasn't. At least I got that it was Scotch, matured in a sherry cask. This whiskey, released in 2019 in the UK, was matured in sherry hogsheads from Jerez, Spain. Photo courtesy of Charles Grabitzky.
