Tasted as Day 5 of The Saratoga Whiskey Club Advent Calendar 2022. Every day is a new adventure with a blind tasting, where we each try to guess the country of origin, the type and age of the whisk(e)y, and the ABV, followed by a reveal at 9PM. This is the first batch of Irish Whiskey produced in County Mayo in over 150 years. The Connacht Distillery uses their own Irish barley. Matured in ex-Bourbon and finished in Sherry Casks from Jerez, Spain. Whiskey production started at the distillery in 2016. Photo courtesy of Charles Grabitzky.
