Tasted at Saratoga Whiskey Club Tasting # 115 - Glenturret Vertical Tasting. Glenturret Distillery was established in 1763 and is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Glenturret is one of the key component whiskies in Famous Grouse. Both this whisky (SMWS 16.58) and another whisky I have reviewed (SMWS 16.59) were distilled in April 2001 and initially matured for 18 years in a single port pipe, and then divided into two separate casks, this one being finished for 2 years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. There were only 78 bottles made available to the USA.
