I tasted this whiskey as Day 1 of the 2024 Saratoga Whiskey Club Advent Calendar. Every day is a new adventure with a blind tasting, where we each try to guess the country of origin, the type and age of the whisk(e)y, the ABV, and the type of barrel/cask used for maturation, followed by a reveal at 9PM. This whiskey was a barrel pick from Canterbury Liquors (Canterbury, CT), chosen by the famous barrel picker / shop owner Irene (aka Whisky Mentors). This High West Whiskey is a sourced whiskey, comprised of a blend of 4-to-9 year old bourbons from Heaven Hill (Kentucky - 78% corn / 12% rye / 10% malted barley) and MGP (Indiana - 75% corn / 21% rye / 4% malted barley).
