Tasted at Saratoga Whiskey Club Tasting # 176 - St Patrick's Day Celebration. J.J. Corry is a small independent bottler based in County Clare, Ireland. Founded by Louise McGuane, she is known for her innovative approach to blending and aging Irish whiskey. In 2013, Louise came upon an old Irish Whiskey label that had a shamrock on it. After some digging, she discovered that just a few miles away from her family’s farm was a whiskey bonder called “J.J. Corry”. The brand is named in honor of the long-lost entrepreneur. The Flintlock is a blend of six single malt casks. The name is inspired by a 1790 pistol found in the J.J. Corry 17th Century tasting room. The youngest whiskey in this marriage is 21 years old. This is the Spring 2024 Edition, Batch 5 - A vatting of 6 ex-bourbon casks of single malt Irish whiskey distilled at Bushmills and then finished in Fino sherry butts from Bodegas Garvey in Jerez for 18 months.
