Tasted at Saratoga Whiskey Club Tasting # 213 - End of Summer Patio Party. This whiskey was distilled in June 2021 and matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, and then finished in a South African red wine cask from Rupert & Rothschild. There were 297 bottles in the outturn. The mash bill was unusual- It could not qualify as a Single Pot Still whiskey, because it was less than 30% unmalted barley, and more than 5% of grains other than malted and unmalted barley. Here is the mash bill: 21.5% Unmalted Barley, 50% smoked malted barley, 14.3% oats, 7.1% wheat, 7.1% rye.
