Tasted at Saratoga Whiskey Club Tasting # 185 - Lost Lantern Summer Releases with Adam Polonsky. Independent bottler Lost Lantern (Vergennes, VT USA) hand-selected this cask from Whiskey Acres in DeKalb, IL. A fifth-generation family farm in the heart of Illinois corn country, Whiskey Acres is one of the only true estate distilleries in the United States. They grow, mill, mash, ferment, distill, and age their whiskey all on-site—while also experimenting extensively with unique grain varietals, grown with modern agricultural precision. This straight bourbon whiskey, Lost Lantern's first from Whiskey Acres, was aged for 5 years in a 53-gallon barrel. It was made with 75% yellow dent corn, 15% wheat, and 15% malted barley. 176 bottles.
