Tasted at Saratoga Whiskey Club Tasting # 108 - Edrington. This is one of three whiskies that were all distilled on the same day in October 2008, and initially matured for 10 years in Oloroso Sherry butts. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society vatted (married together) these casks, and then split the vatted spirit into three different casks to finish for an additional 2 years before bottling them in October of 2018. This whisky spent its final two years in a first-fill American Oak Pedro Ximenez Sherry Hogshead. There were 120 total bottles made available to the USA (out of 287 total). The Scotch Malt Whisky Society categorized the flavor profile of this whisky as Deep, Rich & Dried Fruits. Photo courtesy of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
