Tasted at The Bourbon Den (Jan Daurio) Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series Tasting. BEP stands for Barrel Entry Proof. Maker's standard BEP is 125. This limited-release bourbon showcases the influence of lower barrel entry proof of 110 (55% ABV). It was crafted to amplify the balanced wood sugars, softer tannins and lasting finish achieved with lower BEP. 10 special Virgin American Oak finishing staves were used to amplify notes of vanilla and sweet spice that naturally occur from lower BEPs. BEP is the fifth and final bourbon in this chapter of the Wood Finishing Series.
