Although very similar to bourbon, this sour mash is not technically a bourbon, because Michter's does not disclose whether or not it's at least 51% corn. It does have corn, rye and malted barley in the mash bill; and it is matured in new, charred oak barrels. However, it is filtered before bottling. So, this is NOT a bourbon. However, that's the closest category for me to use in WhiskeyPoints. Tasted at Michter's Distillery.
