Wheated bourbon. NOTE (7 March 2019): I tasted/rated this whiskey in 2010, when the retail price was $50, which would have made this an OK VALUE. Since then, the aura of Van Winkle has grown; and this now sells for $300-600 per bottle, which makes this a POOR VALUE. This is a good bourbon; but, certainly NOT worth today's high prices. There are many better bourbons for a fraction of the cost.
