Tasted this whisky at Rugen Distillery with a tour hosted by our wonderful guide and bartender, Menno. The distillery is located in Interlaken, Switzerland, and has gorgeous views of the Alps. When Switzerland legalized distillation of grains in Switzerland in 1999, Rugen became the first to start making single malt whisky. "Classic" was their first release, initially available in 2008. This whisky was triple distilled in a hybrid pot+column configuration and matured in an ex-Oloroso Sherry barrel.
