This is a decent intro to whisky for non-whisky drinkers; and SIA is unlikely to offend sensitive palates. It is comprised of a blend of 40% single malt and 60% grain whisky. The single malt composition is 50% Speyside, 40% Highlands, and 10% Islay. From the SIA website: Our founder is a first generation Cuban-American who became one of the first Hispanic people in history to create a scotch whisky brand. Carin Luna-Ostaseski left her 17-year career as a creative director and successfully funded SIA Scotch Whisky on kickstarter.com, pursuing her dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur and one of the first Hispanic people in history to create a scotch whisky company. SIA Scotch Whisky is distilled, matured, blended and bottled in Scotland, using Ex-American Oak barrels. The name SIA means “six” in Scottish Gaelic and represents the six different whiskies that were in the original blend when Carin first founded the brand in 2012-13.
