Stauning describes this whisky as "double malt"- it is a combination of 100% floor-malted barley and 100% floor-malted rye. However, there is no such classification of whisky. A whisky from a single distillery with two different grains is technically a Single Grain. Two different distillations (one that is 100% malted rye and one that is 100% malted barley) were married together to create this whisky.
