Tasted this as Day 19 of The Saratoga Whiskey Club Advent Calendar 2021. Every day is a new adventure with a blind tasting, where we each try to guess the country of origin, the type and age of the whisk(e)y, and the ABV, followed by a reveal at 9PM. This first batch of homegrown barley whiskey was limited to just 2,000 bottles. Aged entirely in first-fill ex-Rioja casks, sourced from Bodegas Faustino in Spain, this whiskey was distilled from barley grown on the Tipperary Distillery land, matured in a traditional farm shed right beside their farmhouse, and hand-bottled by the staff.
