Tasted this as Day 19 of The Saratoga Whiskey Club Advent Calendar 2020. Every day is a new adventure with a blind tasting, where we each try to guess the country of origin, the type and age of the whisk(e)y, the ABV, and the distillery, followed by a reveal at 9PM. Waterford is a new distillery, founded in 2014 by Mark Reynier (formerly of Bruichladdich). This distillery takes transparency to a whole new level, with each bottle providing traceability of the barley to the farm and date of harvest. This whisky is from their first release. Although it is a NAS whisky, it is primarily 3-yr old whisky, with potentially some 4-yr old spirit in the mix. Photo courtesy of Charles Grabitzky.
