Tasted as Day 18 of The Saratoga Whiskey Club Advent Calendar 2023. Every day is a new adventure with a blind tasting, where we each try to guess the country of origin, the type and age of the whisk(e)y, the ABV, and the type of barrel/cask used for maturation, followed by a reveal at 9PM. This unpeated single malt whisky was matured in Ex-Bourbon barrels and finished in Islay Quarter Casks, which imparted the peaty flavor. A brewery called Weetwood Ales, making beer since 1992, started distilling and aging whisky in 2018. This release had only 891 bottles. Sadly, this tasty whisky is not (yet?) available in the USA.
