Tasted this as Day 24 of The Saratoga Whiskey Club Advent Calendar 2021. Every day is a new adventure with a blind tasting, where we each try to guess the country of origin, the type and age of the whisk(e)y, and the ABV, followed by a reveal at 9PM. This distillery-exclusive bottle was picked up by Charles Grabitzky at the distillery. The flavor profile is reminiscent of Angel's Envy, which also is finished in Port casks. This is a non-age-statement whiskey; however, from the distillery, "We take our fully matured 5-year straight bourbon and transfer it into Ruby Port barrels for 6 additional months. The Port finishing process adds a viscous mouthfeel with notes of candied cherry, dried plums, berries and chocolate on top of the traditional bourbon flavor characteristics."
