Springbank Distillery makes some of my favorite expressions of whisky. It is located in Campbeltown on a tiny bay on the southeastern coast of the Kintyre peninsula, in southwestern Scotland. Springbank has three main brands:
- Springbank: A lightly peated, grassy single malt. In addition to the standard core of 10-yr, 15-yr and 18-yr releases, Springbank creates some spectacular wine-cask releases on a regular basis.
- Longrow: A heavily peated single malt. The standard offering is a non-age statement release. However, they also offer some interesting wine cask age-statement whiskies.
- Hazelburn: A triple distilled non-peated single malt. Hazelburn tends to be very light, as one would expect from a lowlands Scotch or an Irish single malt.
