From Bruichladdich: "Our Octomore .1 editions are distilled from 100% Scottish barley. In recent years they have been primarily aged only in ex-American oak, in varying percentages of different ex-bourbon and ex-Tennessee whiskey casks. They are the backbone of each new series as they demonstrate the raw character of the clean Octomore spirit balanced with the neutral American oak casks." This whisky was peated to 107ppm of phenols, distilled in 2013 from the 2012 harvest with 100% Scottish Concerto barley, and matured on Islay for 5 years in 1st-fill American Whiskey casks from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniels. I tasted it at the Octomore Masterclass in Warehouse 12 with Head Distiller Adam Hannett at Bruichladdich Open Day at Feis Ile 2019.
