I tasted this interesting New York Rye at First Fill Spirits (Saratoga Springs, NY). Long Island Spirits was established in 2007 as the first distillery on Long Island since the 1800s and the 100th distillery in the US. The name of this whiskey comes from Teddy Roosevelt, a native Long Islander, who organized the United States First Volunteer Cavalry known as the Rough Riders. These men cherished adventure, independence, and excellence. “Speak softly and carry a big stick." This NY State Rye Whiskey is made out of 93% winter rye and 7% malted barley.
