Tasted at 4th Annual Saratoga Whiskey Night for Saratoga Living Magazine at Putnam Place (Saratoga Springs, NY). Shady Knoll Orchard and Distillery is located in the Hudson Valley in Millbrook, New York. They are family-owned and operated by the Kneipper-Richards family. They grow their own apples and rye to make their rye whiskies and apple brandies. All whiskey production is done on-site and distilled in French Alembic Pot Stills. This whiskey has a mashbill of 35% rye, 14% corn, 27% malted barley and 24% wheat. It was matured in New Charred American Oak barrels and then finished in Port Barrels.
