When I started Whisk(e)yPoints a few years ago, pricing was somewhat stable. Recently, however, with rising popularity, inflation and international tariffs, some of my original value assessments may no longer be valid. So, I have updated the algorithm to correspond to today’s market prices (see chart below).

For any whisky I have rated, the price shown is the market price at that time. I have NOT gone back and re-priced whiskies in any of my existing reviews. Therefore, some whiskies will appear on this site with lower prices than can be found today; and, therefore, they will appear to be better value.

I am sharing my algorithm to hopefully enable you to assess the value of a whisk(e)y that you are considering for purchase.

You can use it to assess the value of a whisk(e)y that I reviewed in the past, using today’s prices. And, if you’ve tasted a whisk(e)y and have your own rating score for it, then you can use this to assess the value with your own score.
